A circular-economy company · Starting in reclaimed flooring

Every material hasa past life.We give it a future.

Reclaimedflooring.com exists to keep beautiful materials in circulation — beginning with the staggering amount of timber flooring torn out of buildings every year and never reused. We rescue it, restore it, and lay it again for the architects and designers who share the mission.

Scroll

It started with one observation, made over thirty years in construction and architecture: we are throwing away materials that have a century of life left in them. Reclaimed flooring is where we begin to put that right.

01 The problem we exist for

The construction industry has a waste problem.

Every year, perfectly good timber floors are ripped out of buildings and sent to landfill or the burner — wood that was slow-grown, hard-wearing and full of character, written off as rubble.

We think that's an act of quiet vandalism. So we built a company to intercept it: to find that timber, restore it, and give it another life underfoot — and to prove that the circular economy can be the beautiful choice, not the compromise.

02 What we rescue

Wood with a history.

Reclaimed oak

001 — OAK

Heritage Oak

Dense, dark and slow-grown. Lifted from old mills and buildings, holding a century of footfall and a depth no new oak can imitate.

Shoreline driftwood

002 — DRIFT

Shoreline Driftwood

Salt-cured, silvered and smooth. Gathered from coast and estuary, weathered by tide and time into pale boards full of light.

Reclaimed barn timber

003 — PINE

Old-Growth Pine

Pale, knotted and full of light. Saved from barns and farmsteads, weathered to a soft honey that warms even the coolest room.

The greenest material is the one that already exists. We simply give it somewhere to belong again. The Reclaimed Flooring Workshop

03 Where we're going

Flooring is just the beginning.

We started with flooring because the waste there is so visible — and so fixable. But the mission is bigger. We're building the one place architects and designers come to source circular-economy materials of every kind.

The Story

Thirty years of watchinggood wood thrown away.

Reclaimed Flooring began with a co-founder who spent a career in construction and architecture — and couldn't ignore what the industry was sending to landfill.

Construction crane rising at dawnThe future needs us

01 The co-founder's story

A career in construction. A conscience about waste.

Our co-founder spent over thirty years working in construction and architecture. Long enough to see, on site after site, just how much usable material the industry quietly discards — and to feel that something had to change.

It was the flooring that became impossible to unsee. Beautiful, solid timber being lifted out of buildings during refurbishment and demolition, and almost none of it being reused. Wood that had decades — centuries — of life left, treated as waste.

02 From observation to obsession

The fascination that became a company.

i.

Seeing the waste firsthand

Three decades in the trade meant a front-row view of everything the construction sector puts into circulation — and everything it throws out. The scale of it was hard to accept.

ii.

Looking into what could be reclaimed

That led to years of looking into reclaimed materials of every kind — from furniture to flooring — asking a simple question: why is so little of this being saved and put back to use?

iii.

The flooring that wouldn't leave the mind

One material kept standing out: the sheer volume of timber flooring taken out of buildings and never reused. That fascination is the reason reclaimedflooring.com exists.

03 Who we are now

A Central London company, working both sides of the Atlantic.

Today we are a Central London based company, working in reclaimed flooring with architects and interior designers across the UK and the United States. We source the most naturally reclaimed timber on the market, restore it by hand, and lay it on projects where it matters.

But the company isn't really about flooring. It's about a way of building — one where materials stay in use, the circular economy is the default, and beauty and responsibility are the same decision.

Our mission
Reclaimed timber floor detail

For Architects

Specify witha clear conscience.

For architects who want genuine circular-economy material — not a substitute milled to look the part — we are the single source for the most naturally reclaimed timber on the market, across the UK and USA.

We work with architects who care where their materials come from — and want a specialist who can prove the provenance, deliver the spec, and stand behind the circular-economy story.

01 How we work with you

From specification to laid floor.

01

Source

We find the right reclaimed material — oak, driftwood, old-growth pine — and match grain, tone and provenance to your scheme, with the documentation to back it.

02

Restore

Hand-selected, de-nailed, kiln-stabilised and finished in our workshop, so the boards perform to spec without losing the character that makes them reclaimed.

03

Supply & lay

We supply to your contractor or lay it ourselves — to programme, to a flawless finish, across the UK and throughout the US.

02 Where you'll find our floors

A track record across three demanding sectors.

Over the years we have supported leading practices on large commercial schemes, designer-led interiors and significant private residences on both sides of the Atlantic.

Designer-led interior

SECTOR 01

Designer-led

The reliable specialist behind the scheme — a reclaimed floor matched to the vision, down to the tone and the grain.

Commercial timber floor

SECTOR 02

Large commercial

Hospitality, retail and workplace at volume — supplied with the provenance and consistency a programme requires.

Residential timber floor

SECTOR 03

Large residential

Significant private homes where the floor is a heritage material in its own right and the finish has to be perfect.

03 Who we work with

We only work with the like-minded.

We're selective by design. We partner with practices and companies that are genuinely on the same mission as us — committed to the circular economy and to building responsibly. If that's your studio, we'd love to talk.

For Interior Designers · London & the USA

Reshaping the world, one reclaimed material at a time.

We welcome interior designers onto a mission to reshape the world of resources and materials — working alongside reclaimed furniture, flooring and other materials on a circular-economy basis, across London and the United States.

Designers don't come to us for a catalogue. They come because they believe what we believe: that reuse beats replacement, that reclaimed materials carry a story new ones never will, and that walking on something with age is better than walking on something new.

01 A shared mission

Helping designers reshape the world, one floor at a time.

The designers we work with aren't just choosing a floor — they're choosing a way of building. One where reuse comes before replacement, where reclaimed materials are specified by intent, and where the circular economy is the starting point, not an afterthought.

Because there's something honest about walking on a surface that has already lived. A board with age, grain and history underfoot will always say more than something new. We help designers tell that story — across London and the United States.

02 Why designers work with us

The reasons we get the repeat call.

01

Naturally reclaimed, genuinely sourced

The most naturally sourced reclaimed timber on the market — salvaged oak, driftwood and old-growth pine with provenance you can stand behind in front of a client.

02

Matched to your scheme

We sample, match and tune tone and grain to the design intent — so the floor reads exactly as you imagined it, not as the nearest stock equivalent.

03

One contact, two markets

The same specialist, the same standards, whether the project is in Central London or stateside — no re-briefing a new supplier each time you cross the Atlantic.

03 Worked together, time and again

Across London and the USA.

We've supported designers on a wide range of projects on both sides of the ocean — from city apartments and townhouses to large private homes and designer-led commercial spaces.

Significant private homes where the floor is a hero material — specified with designers who expect a flawless result.

04 Who we partner with

Studios on the same mission.

We choose our partners carefully. We work with large designers and large companies who genuinely share our commitment to the circular economy — and only those. It keeps every project honest, and the story behind every floor true.

To walk on something with age is to walk on a story. New wood can't say what reclaimed wood already knows.Reclaimed Flooring

Our Mission

Helping the worldgo circular.

Our mission is bigger than flooring: to help the world keep materials in circulation, and in doing so, to help protect the planet that keeps us all breathing.

We believe the most responsible material is the one that already exists. Reuse over replacement; longevity over disposability; circulation over waste. Here, refined and low-impact are the same thing.

01 How we see the world

A tree spends a lifetime turning air into timber. The least we can do is not throw that gift away.

We tend to see wood as a product. We try to see it as the trees it came from — slow, patient organisms that pull carbon from the sky, hold it in their grain, and give us the very air we breathe.

A reclaimed floor honours that. It keeps the carbon locked in place, keeps the forest standing, and keeps a material that took decades to grow doing useful, beautiful work for decades more. Protecting timber is, in a small way, protecting the lungs of the planet.

02 How a reclaimed floor protects the planet

Beautiful, because it spares the forest.

01

Salvage first

We source from demolition, refurbishment, decommissioned mills and shorelines — timber already cut, already cured. Nothing is felled to fill an order.

02

Carbon kept captive

Living wood stores carbon for decades. Reusing it — rather than letting it rot or burn — keeps that carbon locked inside your floor instead of in the air.

03

Built to outlast us

A floor that lasts a century is the most sustainable floor of all. We restore for longevity, so it never needs ripping out and replacing.

03 The company we keep

We work only with those on the same mission.

This matters enough that we're deliberate about it. We work with industry leaders, large designers and large companies who genuinely share our commitment to the circular economy — and we don't work with those who don't. The mission only holds if everyone at the table believes in it.

04 Where the mission goes next

One stop for circular-economy materials.

Flooring is where we start, because the waste is so visible and so fixable. But the goal is to become the single source architects and designers come to for reclaimed, circular-economy materials of every kind — expanding from floors into furniture, and beyond.
